The Nizhny Novgorod Regional Court recognized the “Male State” group as an extremist organization and banned its activities on the territory of Russia. This was reported by Mediazona (recognized as a foreign agent. – Note ed.). Earlier, the relevant claim was sent by the city prosecutor’s office, the interested parties were the Nizhny Novgorod department of the Ministry of Justice and Roskomnadzor for the Volga Federal District.

During the trial, the prosecution was represented by Vladislav Pozdnyakov’s lawyer Dzambolat Gabaraev – the leader of the group himself was not present at the meeting. To justify the actions of the “Male State” Gabaraev said that the organization was created “to protect traditional foundations and values,” and he explained the persecution of women by the fact that “women themselves discredited the male population.” “Patriarahat is a form of social organization that does not infringe upon the rights of either women or children,” he said.
