“Tulun maniac” sentenced to 24 years in a maximum security colony – VP


The Irkutsk regional court sentenced a resident of Tulun, better known as the “Tulun maniac”, to 24 years in a strict regime colony with restraint of liberty for a period of 1 year and 10 months. This was reported on the court’s website. The defendant confessed to two murders and 27 rapes from 2000 to 2019. The name of the maniac was not officially disclosed, but Mediazona (recognized by the foreign agent. – Note ed.) notes that we are talking about fifty-three-year-old Pavel Shuvalov.

“The attacker used the same scheme. Under the threat of using a knife, he took the victims to quiet and deserted places, where he committed illegal acts, ”the prosecutor’s office explained. The investigation also involved police officers who had previously caught the “Angarsk maniac” Mikhail Popkov.
