The association of Viennese museums has opened an account at OnlyFans, where it will publish paintings with nude figures. This was reported on the website of the Vienna Tourist Office. The initiative, dubbed “Vienna strips on OnlyFans”, is a sign of protest against censorship and social media policies that block nudity images. The Tourism Board notes that Facebook and Instagram have removed pictures of antique sculptures, paintings by Peter Paul Rubens and Egon Schiele. In addition, in July in TikTok, the account of the Albertina Museum was blocked due to the display of the work of the Japanese photographer Nobuyoshi Araki, where naked female breasts were filmed.
“Over the years, Vienna has been home to some of the world’s most famous artists, including Egon Schiele and Koloman Moser,” notes the Tourism Board. “They changed the face of art forever, and they are also known for their bold nudity. Therefore, it is not surprising that some of their works were criticized by censors over a century ago. However, the fight against censorship is still ongoing: with the growing popularity of social networks, such bans are returning again. ”
In addition to frank publications, the association guarantees all its OnlyFans subscribers free tickets to the city’s museums and gift cards. The account can be viewed at the link.
